Tharo has made a great label printer even better!
With the release of the H400 series of label printers, the bar has been raised to an amazing level with high quality printers at a very competitive price. There have been several enhancements to the first generation of H-series printers and the list of features looks like a list of options for other label printers. Enhancements such as aluminum cast center wall, a fast 32-bit processor and 4MB of memory, the H400 series printer is “Best of Class”. Well actually the H400 series is in a class by itself. There is now an option for adding an Ethernet adapter card allowing the printer to be connected and controlled on a network andwhere in the world. Even with the Ethernet adapter card installed, the selling price of the printer will be less than one-thousand dollars for 203dpi print resolution.

Happy New Year to everyone!
Why am I late with this Happy New Year post? I wanted to make sure that even though paper manufacturers have increasedprices, our pressure sensitive label convertershave held steady making this truly a ‘Happy New Year’. I hate price increases just like anybody else does, and I realize that it’s part of the landscape, but I hate changing our price lists, the Internet site and then our internal systems to reflect the increase. Our course I never mind doing this when the price goes down.
Again Happy Year Year and please have a safe and enjoyable 2008.

OUCH.
Just finished repairing 3 Zebra 160s label printers that had serious damage to the printheads. One of the printers was setup for direct thermal printing while the remaining two used thermal transfer (ribbon) printing. The company was using labels and ribbons from a local busisness supply company and the media was just garbage. The ribbons were flaking and the direct thermal label material was no better than sand paper. The company purchasing agent thought he was saving money after being solicted by the business companies telemarketing salesperson. The company tested the media and then placed an order for 3 months worth of labels and ribbons. After the first month, the company began to experience quality issues and eventually lost the printhead in the direct thermal unit. The business supply company had NO CLUE as to what the problem could be and blamed the issue on poor cleaning. Rightfully so cleaning is important, but can only solve a few issues. After inspecting the printers, all three had to have replacement printheads installed. The direct thermal printer appeared to be damaged due to poor topcoating on the direct thermal material. The two thermal transfer printers printheads were clogged with flakes from the ribbons. Total cost of repair, 2,375.00. Great savings buying from the business supply company. Just because the business supply company decides to change the name of the company, does not mean the quality will get any better.
Well after quite a few requests from clients I have decided to post interesting installations, products and experiences in order to give our current and potential clients realworld information about what others are doing with automatic identification and data collection systems. I feel this webblog is going to be a huge asset for some, especially since radio frequency identification, or RFID, is gaining momentum. I am going to ask some of the industries leading experts to post comments on here occasionally since I do not want this to become a forum for a single person to chat. I do hope you enjoy the topics we decide to post and help us grow with additional feedback and ideas.
Best regards,
